The Truth About Abortion
Dear Senator/Congressman,
The U.S. Supreme Court legalized abortion in the Roe v. Wade case on January 22, 1973. Justice Harry Blackmun issued the majority decision, stating that “We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins. When those trained in the respective disciplines of medicine, philosophy, and theology are unable to arrive at any consensus, the judiciary, at this point in the development of man’s knowledge, is not in a position to speculate as to the answer.”
We now know that there are overwhelming medical , philosophical and theological facts that argue against abortion. These facts are explained in the open letter to Senator Lieberman that is included as an attachment to this letter. Please consider these facts carefully.
My appeal to Senator Lieberman is to apply the reality of his faith and the lessons learned from the Jewish holocaust to the issue of abortion. His faith demands respect for the sanctity of life. In addition, I am asking him to express the same outrage towards the American holocaust (abortion) as he has shown to the Jewish holocaust of WWII.
My appeal to you is to consider the facts that are now known about the horrible act of abortion, and that you vote your conscience in matters pertaining to the issue of abortion, especially if you claim to ascribe to the Judeo-Christian faith. Abortion stops a beating heart!
When pregnant young girls see an ultrasound picture of the life in their womb, the vast majority decides not to kill their unborn child. When the truth about abortion is known, people will see it for what it is – the murder of convenience of the innocent unborn – and demand that it be stopped.
The truth about abortion is known now – and it is time to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision.
Abortionists are taking the lives of the pre-born at the rate of 1.5 million per year, and we need to stop this terrible tragedy now.
On behalf of the unborn,
